Rainbow chair - Rational
Rational –Rainbow chair
Problem
When I went to Bondi beach, I saw a lot of people have
nowhere to put their personal belongings and shoes.
(People putting their personal belongings on the top of the
sands)
Hence I am thinking can I design a chair for people to put
their personal belongings when they go to the beach rather than putting their
stuff on the top of sands?
When I walking around the beach I saw the benches around the
beach and here has heaps blank to keep the sands so I am think can I design a
chair stick on the wall and have some part for people put their shoes.
(Picture of the blank wall in Bondi beach)
Solution
So I come up with a chair like this
The best innovation of my chair is I designed my chair bottom
part 65 mm wide which for people to putting the shoes. As I did some research
about the people’s width? The average width of girls are 8 cm, boys 11cm.so 6.5
cm will be able to hanging people’s shoes. So when people go to beach they have somewhere to
hang their shoes.
When I carefully look my photos from Bondi again, I realize
not all people go to beach with happy mood so I am thinking about play the
colour in my design. I choose rainbow colour which can represent all people emotion.
Moreover, I made my chair in different position which can suitable for all
height people to sit. There has different colour version such as: happy, so-so,
sad. So people can chose which emotion to sit. Also I made the different
version for example: individual, couple and family. Another reason I putting the rainbow colour
in my chair because I saw the beach wall has been painted to make the beach
become more interesting! Ii am thinking if I putting the colour in my chair
which makes the beach more colourful rather than paint the blank wall, also,
government can saving money to paint the blank wall.
Benefits
Because it is a wall chair so it can be put anywhere has
blank wall, and makes the area become more colourful.
Material
Rainbow chair is made by wood. It is a recyclable, green material. It has
long usage.
How it is answer the brief?
My design is be able see from the far distance and it use
all the blank walls .

PROGRESS JOURNAL

A jewelry box idea bumped in

L-Green bottle
My design
The water bottle is tall 280mm, radius is 40mm.
This bottle made by 3 parts, first part is 115mm; second
part is 78mm, Third part is 87mm.
The third part is for the just 0-6 month old baby, After
6 month add the second part on the bottle then it can be used for the rest of
life. Also, the first part is with
bottle handle it easy for people to carry it, also people can use it as a cup.it
is a green gift for all people ,because it is for all the ages and it can use
fort whole lifetime.
Materials-silicone & stainless steel
The body part is made by stainless steel; the nipples are
made by silicone. The advantages of using the stainless steel and silicone
1.
Silicon is a green material can be recycled and
not harmful to humanbeen.
2.
Resistance in boiling water, easy to disinfect.
3.
Not smelly when baby Chewing
4.
It will be crack for long- term using
Stainless steel
1.
100% recyclable material
2.
100% BPA free
3.
100% pathalate free
4.
100%lead free
5.
100%PVC free
Okala
1.
Avoid
materials that damage human or ecological health
2.
Avoid
materials that deplete natural resources
3.
Use recycled or redaimed materials
4.
Design for resuse of components
5.
Design for second life with different function.
Innovation:
So mums only need to change the nipple instead of wasting
the capsules. Which can save more material and making the manufacture process
easily .
Inspiration story
Every Sunday I go to
church Sunday meeting and I see the mums always carrying different kind of baby
bottles with them to feeding their little baby. Thus, I was thinking can the
bottle growing while baby growing. So
whole their life only need one bottle.
Design philosophy
As reach I did shows: mums always buy at least 3-4 bottles
for their baby, and when the baby becomes older those bottles are useless and
chucked into bean. If mums only buy one L-green bottle and this bottle are
going to using for their baby whole lifetime. In other word we are teaching
kids to protect environment and save the earth resources when they were little
baby.
